Late night in Race Village

Sitting on the balcony of our beutiful pavilion. We have a great view from here over the Race village and the whole harbour! The rain has finally stopped and there are quite a lot of people in Race village moving around. A spanish speaker, or it might be the spanish comedian they talked about this morning?, is entertaining at the stage. He is talking very fast at least! The days are flying by down here, from early in the morning til late at night. I have the night shift in the Pavilion for the second night, which means staying here til 24.00, so the days easily get to be long. I have kept up the morning walks more or less every day, which I'm very proud of! Today there was a shorter one as it rained, but still so good to get out for a while before the day really starts! Rosers our caterer is giving us so much good food, which is a good change from the nearby restaurants!

Time to get back to the never ending amount of e-mails to be answered...

The volvo office

A day in the office

After the morning walk (still keeping the now old tradition up!) I'm looking forward to a day in the office working away on the e-mails and lists. We've started to settle in here. We've found the coffee, ice cream and lunch place where we and most of the staff are regular visitors. Close by and very good! The days are flying by! Yesterday the eigth boat arrived, so now they are all here. Soon it's the opening of the race village with a cocktail reception afterwards.
So back to my e-mails...

In Alicante!

Finally here! We've had a great weekend since we came Saturday evening. Saturday arriving late we had dinner in the port and then went to have a look at the exhibition. It's coming along great and it will be fabulous when it's all in place!

We started Sunday morning with a one hour walk along the beach. Just lovely! We will try to do it every morning, but we'll see how we go. (We also managed Monday morning, so one down.) We spent some time on the beach, as it was Sunday, and the temperature was just perfect! After spending quite a while to find an open Supermarket on a Sunday we finally managed to find an open one. Everything is closed here on Sundays! So down to the Media center to find our office. It was quite empty as the Race Office had the day off. We sorted out accreditation, office space and a printer is on it's way so we soon be up and running!

Today we will start with the Event briefing from Ali and Sadie and in the afternoon we have a short training session with the local product specialists.
